I missed the peak of the Orionid shower last night, but no matter… every night I marvel at the sky.

Today at Food and Thought, the most adorable little girl French girl, wearing a black-and-white gingham dress with matching patent leather Mary Janes and frilly socks, came up to Arlo and whispered to him, “You are very special.”

There are so many places to run. And yet everything you need, like always, is still right here.

OMG! I love when teenaged girls start following my blog!
Because then I get to discover her blog. Which is sometimes awesome. Because the blog of a teenager is a glimpse into a time that is full of magic and total cringe-worthy turmoil.
These girls share (basically a common) experience with posts that capture a heartbreaking time of transition with their transparency.
Here are the standard posts of a teen. God bless them. I love what they do.
The “Handwritten Life-Affirming Quote” Post

The “Life Is Shit” Post

The “Carefree-Yet-Sexy Girl” Post

The “Y U No” Meme Post

The “Fall in Love Inspiration” Post

The “Cute Animal” Post

The “Longing” Post

The “Semi-Psychotic Message to Crush” Post

Ladies, it won’t stop. And in fact, in ten years, you’ll be driving a Honda singing along to Taylor Swift on your local station’s Oldies channel. Life gets way less dramatic.
Dream big, girls! Take an SAT prep class. Wait to have sex. Ditch your shit heel friend. Don’t make duck faces. Get off the computer and go outside.

It’s really true.
And frankly, having only two shirts might make things a little easier, too.

The old yoga blog is getting a new facelift.

Sit with your friends; don’t go back to sleep.
Don’t sink like a fish to the bottom of the sea.
Surge like an ocean
don’t scatter yourself like a storm.
Life’s waters flow from darkness.
Search the darkness, don’t run from it.
Night travelers are full of light,
and you are, too; don’t leave this companionship.
Be a wakeful candle in a golden dish.
don’t slip into the dirt like quicksand.
The moon appears for night travelers,
be watchful when the moon is full.
